In this Medium article, I discuss the subject of Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated individuals hospitalised and mortality, data will be based on the UK and USA. This article goes to debunk the AV equivocal dribble of “the vaccinated are in the hospitals more than the unvaxxed”, we all know this isn’t true but to refute a claim obviously we need the evidence (because of the burden of proof), so here it is. Enjoy reading folks.

➡ USA Data of hospitalisations (some states)
A wonderful graph-based dashboard from Public Health in Seattle and Kings County showed within the past 30 days 543 hospitalisations were from not fully vaccinated people (81%), death accounted for 78% of the cases (90 cases), the dashboard from Kings County is a great asset to have and easily understood. In all of the states within the USA, the rate of breakthrough cases (a term that can apply to any infection that happens despite vaccination) amongst fully vaccinated (2 doses of a vaccine) equates to below 1%. Connecticut for example has a break case rate percentage of 0.01%. A study done by the CDC in New York accounted for the following — “A total of 1,271 new COVID-19 hospitalizations (0.17 per 100,000 person-days) occurred among fully vaccinated adults, compared with 7,308 (2.03 per 100,000 person-days) among unvaccinated adults”. In addition, the study from the CDC goes on to state in the quotation “Hospitalization rates generally declined through the week of July 5, but increased the weeks of July 12 and July 19, and were higher among fully vaccinated and unvaccinated persons aged ≥65 years compared with younger age groups”. A pre-print posted in August 2021 showed from January 24 to July 24 that vaccinated individuals were hospitalised with COVID-19 at a much lower rate than unvaccinated individuals, the difference in rates between the two groups were 26 hospitalised per 100,000 vaccinated people and 431 hospitalised people for every 100,000 unvaccinated individuals respectively. Wisconsin data infographic

Wisconsin Department of Health Services published an easy to read and understand which included Covid-19 infections in vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. The data was accumulated in July 2021 and found that around 125 breakthrough infections happened per 100,000 fully vaccinated individuals, compared with around 369 cases per 100,000 individuals who had not been fully vaccinated. ➡ The UK Data
The ONS (Office for National Statistics) posted an article on vaccinated vs unvaccinated deaths of individuals, the information breakdown: Data accumulated between 2 January and 2 July 2021, in England, there were 51,281 deaths involving Covid-19. 640 occurred in people who were fully vaccinated, including people who had been infected before they were vaccinated. 256 were “breakthrough deaths” i.e. occurred in someone who had received both vaccine doses and had a first positive PCR test at least 14 days after the second vaccination dose. 99.5% of deaths were unvaccinated. An analysis of UK Data from SAGE and NIMS between December 2020 and July 2021, out of 40,000 patients with Covid-19 who were hospitalised showed us that 33,496 patients (84%) WASN’T vaccinated, 5198 patients (13%) had one dose of a vaccine and 1274 patients (3%) were fully vaccinated. 611 patients who had reinfection of Covid-19 were excluded from the analysis. 💥 Age factor in the UK
Between the week beginning Monday 16 August 2021 and the week ending Sunday 12 September, the rate of hospital admissions of over 80s was 50.5 per 100 000 in the fully vaccinated and 143.9 per 100,000 in the unvaccinated, while deaths were 45.5 and 145.4 per 100,000, respectively. 60–69-year-olds the hospital admission rates were 13.5 per 100,000 in the fully vaccinated and 74.3 per 100,000 in the unvaccinated, while deaths were 4.1 and 24.3 per 100 000, respectively. ➡ Conclusion
As we can see from the evidence-based information above, unvaccinated are at higher risk of hospitalisation and death, compared to those who are partially or fully vaccinated, the data comes from two countries one being the UK and the other the USA, the same aspect is being seen in other countries too such as Canada as another example. This article is proof that vaccination can and will protect you, it’s definitely a recommendation to go out there and get your vaccination/boosters sorted out.
