AVers strike again with lack of clear evidence for heart problems.

Today’s Medium article is a very serious and controversial subject, the supposed “100s of pro-footballers dying after vaccines”, epidemiological principles of causation and correlation have simply not been applied to start off with, which is a major red flag to start this topic off with. As the AV potato peelers seem to think assumption triumphs over solid scientific investigations and evidence. So without further ado, we will go into the article.

➡ Evidenced-based studies of heart aspects
Here are a number of studies showing issues with sportsmen and women is nothing new. The assumptions of scaremongering by the anti-vax mob, share no facts or evidence to support their case and are now desperate to try to find some relevance. (Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4969030/)

(Source: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/324591588_A_10-year_review_of_sudden_death_during_sporting_activities)

Here is a study saying there is an AVERAGE of 63 sports deaths a year in AUSTRALIA alone.

“On average, there is more than one injury death per week in a sport or recreation setting in Australia. Cases occurred in many sports and recreation activities, including those generally considered to be safe (e.g. individual athletic activities, team ball sports.) Detailed investigation of the coronial recommendations that are present within each case is now needed to understand and identify potential prevention opportunities.”

And this was “… a retrospective cohort study of injury deaths reported between 1 July 2000 to 31 December 2019 using data from the National Coronial Information System, Australia. “

So, pre-covid. (Source: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0250199 )

Another study looking at Covid-19 heart damage in college athletes (Source: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/2770645?guestAccessKey=ad3c4563-167f-452a-917f-7bfe15663b06&utm_source=For_The_Media&utm_medium=refe)

This study paper was published in 2019 (before the prevalence COVID-19 and before Covid related existed) which shows thousands of deaths of healthy athletes, but as usual no one bats an eyelid which is typical. (Source: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2213177917305619)

➡ Cardiovascular disease global impact
One study from Science Direct looked at the global burden (including risk factors) of cardiovascular disease over a 29 year period and CVD continues to rise as quoted here: “The burden of CVD, in a number of DALYs and deaths, continues to increase globally.”

Prevalent cases of total CVD nearly doubled from 271 million in 1990 to 523 million in 2019. All of this happened BEFORE the mass vaccination against Covid-19.

➡ Myocarditis in athletes and in general Covid-19 infection
According to a 2020 review, approximately 5%-25% of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 have had evidence of myocardial injury. (Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7651182/pdf/IPGM_0_1823094.pdf)

In a study published online in May 2021 in JAMA Cardiology, Daniels et al investigated rates of COVID-19 myocarditis among 1,597 athletes from 13 of the 14 Big Ten universities. They observed an overall prevalence of 2.3%, with 9 cases of clinical myocarditis and 28 cases of subclinical myocarditis, categorized based on the presence of cardiac symptoms and findings on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). (Source: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/2780548)

Early studies in collegiate athletes who tested positive for COVID-19 reported that 15% had CMR findings consistent with myocarditis. (Source: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/2770645)

As we can see from the above, athletes recovering from Covid-19 infection are at a higher risk of getting myocarditis post-infection. Overall the percentage of patients who had evidence of myocarditis is between 5–25%. Compared with the incidence rate from vaccination which in comparison is very low per 100,000 people.

A population-based cohort study from BMJ which had 4,931,775 individuals participate in this study showed that myocarditis occurred in 269 people. Of 3,482,295 individuals vaccinated with BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech), 48 developed myocarditis or myopericarditis within 28 days from the vaccination date. (Source: https://www.bmj.com/content/375/bmj-2021-068665)

The study above shows the lower risk of myocarditis post-vaccination, which is much lower than the 5% lower base percentage for post-Covid19 infection.

The estimated incidence per 100,000 persons who had received at least one dose of vaccine was 2.13 cases. Again lower than 5%-25% from post-Covid infection. (Source: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2110737)

➡ Fifa registered deaths of Footballers
617 registered FIFA players died between 2014 and 2018 from sudden cardiac arrest. Which are 153 players per year. Which is massively more than the number of players that SUPPOSEDLY died from the vaccine from the AV spoon feeders. (Source: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33361135/)

In comparison to the above, the claims circulating on Twitter, Facebook and other sources of Internet reading claim that 108 died in a 6 month period, with no facts, no evidence, no underlying cause if they had heart problems before, no clarification of vaccination status (cough cough the Christian Eriksen claim who was unvaccinated) and no causational investigations have even begun. Looking at the above study from Pubmed, 153 players died each year between 2014 & 2018, the incidence rate doesn’t even stack up.

➡ Incidence rates
The age-standardised mortality rate (ASMR) for deaths due to Ischaemic heart disease in 2019 was 96.1 deaths per 100,000 people. Again before Covid-19. The ASMR was significantly lower in England than Wales (94.7 and 109.3 deaths per 100,000 people respectively). (Source: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/bulletins/ischaemicheartdiseasesdeathsincludingcomorbiditiesenglandandwales/2019registrations#:~:text=The%20age%2Dstandardised%20mortality%20rate,deaths%20per%20100%2C000%20people%20respectively)

The annual incidence of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is approximately 55 per 100,000 inhabitants. (Source: https://www.resus.org.uk/library/2021-resuscitation-guidelines/epidemiology-cardiac-arrest-guidelines)

In 2019, the mortality rate of coronary heart disease in the United Kingdom was 98 deaths per 100,000 population. (Source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/940717/mortality-rate-from-coronary-heart-disease-in-the-united-kingdom/#:~:text=In%202019%2C%20the%20mortality%20rate,over%2060%20percent%20since%20then.)

I could go on for each bit, but there’s certainly no way that the incidence rate for cardiac arrests and other cardiovascular system disorders have peaked during this mass vaccination program or we would be seeing it across the board and the incident rate would have peaked over the general numbers from above.

➡ Other information on heart aspects
Heart conditions have always happened. This is nothing new. Did you know that at least 12 people die of undiagnosed heart conditions EVERY week? (Source: CRY: Cardiac Risk in the Young — https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/a-condition-which-kills-young-people-in-their-prime/)

There are 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests each year where emergency medical services attempt to resuscitate the victim. (Source: British Heart Foundation)

Heart and circulatory diseases cause a quarter of all deaths in the UK, that’s more than 160,000 deaths each year — an average of 460 deaths each day or one every three minutes in the UK. There are around 7.6 million people living with a heart or circulatory disease in the UK: 4 million men and 3.6 million women. (Source: British Heart Foundation)

Heart failure affects 900,000 per year. (Source: https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/news-from-the-bhf/contact-the-press-office/facts-and-figures)

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) — In 2016, around 152,000 people in the UK died from CVD — the second most common cause of death after cancer. Of these:
Coronary heart disease (CHD) was the single most common cause resulting in the deaths of 14% of men and 8% of women — a total of about 66,000 deaths.
CVD caused 21% of deaths in people under the age of 75 years (premature death) in the UK, about two-thirds were men. (Source: https://cks.nice.org.uk/topics/cvd-risk-assessment-management/background-information/burden-of-cvd/)

In the UK, one in eight men and one in 15 women die from coronary heart disease. CHD kills twice as many women in the UK as breast cancer. Around 24,000 people under the age of 75 in the UK die from CHD each year. CHD death rates are highest in Scotland and the north of England. 450 deaths every day from heart and circulatory disease every day. 100k hospital admissions every year, due to heart attacks.1 stroke every 5 minutes. (Source: https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/our-research/heart-statistics)

➡ Conclusion
Just another anti-vax fallacy that holds no weight, no evidence, no facts, no investigations and all based on anecdotal evidence and assumptions. Pretty much the end, too much overwhelming evidence to put this strawman to rest.
